The road was long and empty and the scenery along the way showed signs of a still-beautiful-but-past-its-prime New England fall day. I was headed to the Calvin Theater in the little town of Northampton Mass. Northampton is in the western part of the state, a three hour drive from my home on the Northshore, and is in stark contrast to the hustling and bustling of music venues in eastern Mass.......... I was asked to head down to TT the Bear's in Cambridge to fill in for another photographer. The artist(s) dujour was a band called Flyleaf. Opening were a couple of other bands, notably Lullwater out of Georgia. Honestly, I had no idea what I was in for as I'd never heard of the headlining Flyleaf despite the fact that they've been around for over a decade. No worries, I brought them up on YouTube, liked what I saw and figured it would be a good night. I'm always up for something new and you should be too. It's the only way to broaden your musical horizons.................
